Are You Coming to Indie Bookfest?

What Is That?

Indie Bookfest celebrates Indie, Hybrid, and Traditional Authors and Artists and their freedom of expression. Join some of your favorite Authors for a convention filled with workshops, panels, parties and more! You won’t want to miss the sessions throughout the day, where several panelists will be speaking on a variety of topics relevant to readers, book lovers, and writers.

Follow the countdown, discover the details, and more at their website: http://indiebookconvention.com/

You can buy tickets to gain access to panels, meet & greets, and parties here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/indie-bookfest-2017-tickets-29546857446

Are You Coming?

I’ll be there along with over 80 other IndieAuthors who will be showering attendees with swag, talking about books on panels starting at 9 am, book signing, and more. Please be sure to swing by, say hello, pick up a signed book or two, and check out all the amazing authors!

What’s Happening on Which Days?

You can find the schedule on the website, but this is an amazing weekend long convention that caters both to writers and readers. There is a little something for everyone on all the days so here’s my recap of what’s happening. You can find a more intact detailed list with Panel topics here: http://indiebookconvention.com/pages/schedule.html

Thursday September 28th

Welcome Dinner for Authors, industry reps, and attendees. The sales for these ended just recently, but you can always follow the event and aim to join the dinner next year.

Friday September 29th – Industry Day

Writers and Authors! This is a great day to come and sit in on some amazing panels, hear keynote speakers, and even join a workshop or two. From 9 am to 5 pm many of the events on this day will be talking about your craft, branding, social media, health and even time management. Tickets to attend this portion of the convention is $50, a bargain when you compare with RWA and FWA convention prices. This is definitely a great cost-saving alternative.

I will be a panelist for “Craft Counts: Creating Compelling Characters”. Come and ask questions from me and my fellow Authors on how we make well rounded, in-depth characters in our work. Outside of my panel, I will be hitting the panels, workshops, and speakers hard since I am always aiming to learn more about branding, marketing, craft and more. It’s nice to learn something new, hear about what is or is not working, trends to watch or partake in, and more.

At 6:30 pm, if you purchased a Reader Appreciation Day ticket for $25, then you gain access to FanFare on Friday night! Come get some limited supply swag from authors, join us in a game of MadLips, and mingle at this cocktail party. A chance to spend the evening with your favorite authors as well as get to know some new ones!

Saturday September 30th – Reader Appreciation Day

Events start at 9 am with panels, speakers, and workshops aimed at Readers. Some great topics are being covered as well as some great opportunities to ask questions about genres, authors, and the stories you love! To participate in the panels and workshops you need to purchase the ticket for only $25 over on eventbrite. This also gets you in the door for the FanFare party the night before!

You’ll be seeing me on a few panels such as “Be My Fantasy: What is the hottest trend in Fantasy & Sci Fi?” and “From Gargoyles to Mermaids: Post Twilight, post zombie, what are the new creatures on the paranormal scene?” Be sure to join in with these since I will be giving away a Dragon-Themed Fidget Spinner at each panel!

I am also part of the Blogger Meetup session, so if you are partaking in this, I will see you there and super excited about it! Got some sweet swag for these hardworking folks. Shhh, what am I bringing is a secret… now to run down to Hobby Lobby for supplies.

Can’t afford to come? Then plan on being here from 3:00 to 6:00 pm for the OPEN TO THE PUBLIC FREE AUTHOR SIGNING! Even if you just pop in for a hug, I would love to see and feel your support since this is my first time at Indie Bookfest. Be sure to grab a copy of The Oracle signed by yours truly.

During the Author Signing, I will have a limited number of swag bags filled with bookmarks, sticker, rack cards, and a neck wallet! You get one with your purchase of a book. If that wasn’t enough, if you missed your chance to get a fidget spinner at the panels, then come get a book! With each book you purchase you get to enter a ticket for a Random drawing towards the end of the signing event at 5:45 pm. If you can’t stay, no worries, as long as I have a viable address on the ticket I can send it your way!

After the signing event, there will be a PJ Party happening at 8:00 pm. Unfortunately, I may not be able to join you all for this, but please, don’t let that stop you from having a great time!

Sunday October 1st – Author-Reader Dates

Yea, you read that right. If you aren’t tired, or just want to have a little more fun over a cup of coffee, then this is for you. Several of us authors want to end on a sweet note and talk up close with some fans. Be sure to sign up and we will take it from there.
